Privacy Policy

Your files

Your files are yours only and we do not claim any kind of ownership over them. We do not monitor, screen or otherwise review the files which are uploaded to or streamed through our service, except to comply with a compulsory legal request, including DMCA takedown requests.

Your access links

Your list of files can be accessed through an “access link” that is randomly generated (in case of free accounts) or that you can customize (for premium accounts). We currently don’t provide password protection for those links, but in the case of the randomly generated ones they are obscure enough to provide some level of protection. Even so, or systems are designed to block attacks attempting to guess this kind of URLs.
Your files and your access links are not indexed anywhere on our side or on search engines, and they are not accessible either though any kind of search.

File storage and streaming

When using your cloud storage account, we use Amazon’s S3 service to store your files, which is a very secure state-of-the-art platform.
If you only use folders.io to stream files without storing them in your cloud storage account (by un-checking “Store files in your account after first transfer”), then your files are only streamed through our servers and we don’t keep a copy of them.
